This is a closeup of the results from the inaugual 1909 rivalry betwen the Manhattan Chess Club and the Franklin Chess Club. As you can hopefully see from the closeup of this plaque, the Manhattan Chess Club won the trophy each and every year except for the year of 1912 when the Franklin Chess Club won the trophy by a score of 8.5 to 7.5. It also looks like there was a tie back  in 1909 since the scoreon the plaque indicates 8 points for each side but I guess that the Manhattan Chess Club must have won on tiebreakers and therefore retained the trophy.
